What is history? Some define it as “the study of change over time”, covering all facets of human society.
What is the value of history? Per museumonmain.org, “history nurtures personal identity in an
intercultural world. History enables people to discover their own place in the stories of their families,
communities, and nation. They learn the stories of the many individuals and groups that have come
before them and shaped the world in which they live.”

Are you interested in learning more? If so, expand your horizons and join the history section! We
meet on the 2nd Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m. Each meeting features an outside speaker
presenting on a topic pertaining to local, regional, national or international history. A delicious lunch
prepared by the Club’s chefs and enjoyable conversation follows each meeting.
